Prerequisite: Mastery of Algebra 1 required

Curriculum: Foundations in Personal Finance by Dave Ramsey

Materials Needed: A $40 book/curriculum fee is to be paid to Ms. Gutierrez and she will order books and necessary materials for the course and distribute at orientation.

I dare say this course is one that EVERY High School student should take before they graduate and enter adulthood. We will use Dave Ramsey’s Foundations in Personal Finance: High School Edition coupled with guest speakers and field trips related to the current concept to further imprint the daily and/or long-term applications of personal finance. This course covers important topics such as saving, budgeting, debt, bargain shopping, investing and retirement, insurance, taxes, giving, and so much more that build financial literacy, confidence, and inspire hope in students’ lives by teaching them to be good stewards of the resources they receive as well as generous givers.

This course counts as 1 High School math credit on a High School transcript, once other math requirements have been met.
